This is a known issue with VoiceOver and bluetooth sound output devices. The
issue is so bad that I don't bother ever using bluetooth headsets, at least not
for VoiceOver. It's a real shame, as the best wireless headsets are now all

Good distinction, Ricardo. I do believe VO is on in my case, because other
sounds on the Mac are present. However, it probably takes a good minute-minute
and a half to get speech back, and it doesn't seem to come on without me
toggling VO on and off several times.
