As for getting a new router, yeah that’s a great Idea however the provider
isn’t happy about using a router that is not supported by them, guess they
don’t have control over it and can’t block things like they currently can.

Once you are in the table your procedure should work. Note that you can use

Yes I must be misunderstanding what Home Sharing is. It works on the
Apple TY, why not the iPhone? I found information on Apple's support
page that seems to suggest I have it right and that I should see the
content on the My Music tab in the Music app.
