with him, maybe ask that he includes shortcuts to add articles to the OS X
reading list.

Hey Nicholas, Thanks. I emailed the Developer about where to find favorites.
Hopefully they will get back to me. Yeah, the tagging doesn't really interest
me either. Also in Newsrack you could click control F for Facebook, Control T
for Twitter, and control E for email. According to the frequent
I think you need to tag some articles before any will show up in the tags list.
This feature doesn't interest me at all.
I wish they had a simple command to add articles to the Mac OS reading list.
I'd really like that.
Good luck with your hunt for favourites!

Hey Nicholas,
Yes, it is strange that I can't seem to find where the favorited articles go.
For example in Newsrack, command 3 would take you to the articles you have
favorited. Command 3 doesn't do anything in Read Kit, and Command 2 seems to be
something called Tags, haven't figured that one
HI Brian,
1. No, I don't know how to favourite things in Readability. I don't use
Readability. I just use the Readability view in ReadKit. For this I just press
the letter G and the article displays in full text.
2. I'm not sure how or where to view favourite items. I don't use this feature.

Hey Nicholas, Ok, I seem to be getting the whole readability thing down. One
question on Readability. How do you favorite something in readability? Also, in
Read Kit, you can hit the F button to favorite an article in Read Kit, but I
can't for the life of me seem to figure out where you go to vi
The Feed Wrangler iOS app is free. I've downloaded it and used it a bit, but
not a whole lot yet. You can't, so far as I'm aware, swipe down on an article
to delete it. But there is a button two swipes away from the article title
which you can double tap to mark the article as read.

Hey Nicholas, will definitely let you know if I discover anything while
continuing to explore options. Do you use Feed Wrangler's IOS app? If so, is it
any good, and do you know if you can do a one finger swipe down on an article
title to delete it? I like having this option in Lire, and Newsify
HI Brian,
YOu don't need a Readability account to use Readability mode in ReadKit. The
Readability mode in ReadKit just displays the full text of the article without
annoying links and the like even if the owners of the feed have tried to only
include a teaser in the RSS feed. To use it, press
Hey Nicholas, I got Read Kit, and just signed up for the free readability
account, went and hit the letter G, but nothing opens in REad Kit to read the
article. Is there something else I have to install, or does hitting G just send
the article to your readability account for online reading throu
Hey Nicholas,
Yeah, I got it, and that is what I thought Feed Wrangler and REad Kit both did,
but thanks for confirming. Now that I know that Read Kit will delete articles
when I move through them, I am going to make the plunge to REad Kit and Feed
Wrangler some time this week. Regarding Newsra

HI Brian,
Yes, ReadKit let's you just arrow down through the list of articles and marks
them as read once they've been selected. In this sense it's very similar to
NewsRack. There's a table for your folders and feeds, and then to the right of

Hey Nicholas,
A few questions for ya. I was using Newsrack on the mac, and liked that you
could just arrow up or down through the message title and once you moved over
it, that marked it as read. With Read Kit does it do that? I guess I am looking
for an RSS reader that quickly marks articles a
Hi,
ReadKit on the Mac is completely accessible, supports syncing with Feed
Wrangler, FeedBin, and about half a dozen other services. It is very similar to
NewsRack, even costs about the same. Only criticism I have is that it doesn't
support feed management with Feed Wrangler from within the app
Hey Jonathan, Glad you mentioned the slowness of LIRE loading, I thought it was
just me being to impatient with it. I have been impressed with the developer's
improvements with VO, but I to don't like that it doesn't sync with a desktop
client and the slowness of opening folders and feeds is goi
Thanks I have heard good things about Feed wrangler too.
I also like Lire and the developer has really put a lot of work into VO support
on iOS. But I find it slow to load my very large number of feeds, and the
syncing is a biggy.

Hey Jonathan, I haven't tried it yet, but have heard good things about Read
Kit. With the demise of Newsrack, I have decided in order for me to buy
anything, that synching is also important to me. I bought Lire on IOS a month
ago, and do really like it, but it doesn't seem to sync with anything
Feeddler on iOS is supporting 3 cloud-based RSS services and plans to add more.
I really hope there's a Mac client that will support at least one of the
services Feeddler does. For me, syncing across devices is important.

Just checked out Luck News. At first glance it is very accessible. I will need
to play around with it a little, as it looks like there is an extra step to
open a link than there was in Newsrack. Also if you want to import more than 8
feeds, it will cost you .99 not bad at all just wanted to ment
Ok no problem.
Actually, about news rack, You know that you can use it in standalone mode and
not depend on syncing with Google reader. Don't you?
That's another possibility as well.

Thanks for the suggestion Nek, and thanks for letting us know Alex. I will
probably check it out this weekend. Bummed about Newsrack, but Newsrack wasn't
a hundred percent accessible. Ideally, would love to find something that syncs,
but that could take awhile.

Hello Alex.
Yes, I am currently playing with it myself and it looks good.
Have you also considered receiving rss via email?
In my quest for a Google reader replacement, I have been using a service that I
think I like a lot.
Take a look at.

It's free, so I gave it a look. I have not added any subscriptions yet (I'm
really, really hoping that it and Lire will one day support the same syncing
service) but it seems fine. You have two tables, I assume one for folders and
one for articles in the selected folder, then an HTML content are

Try luck news. I haven't tried it personally, but from the description I have

Hey all, As an avid RSS user, I just found out that Newsrack is going bye bye.
I mostly follow my RSS feeds on my iPhone now with Lire, but would like to have
the option to go through them on the mac as well. I don't believe any app on
the mac will sync up with Lire, so I guess just find a cheap
