Actually, it's every bit worth it considering all you can do with Audio Hijack. Also, as far as I can see, there's nothing to stop you from continuing to use the latest version of audio hijack pro 2 unless and until it will no longer do what you want done but audio hijack 3 will.

Hi, I'm not sure what you mean. If your recording just the mic, it will pick up whatever the mic picks up. I'm assuming your using headphones so Voiceover doesn't get picked up by the mic right? In regards to the volume, you want to go to system preferences/sounds and select the input tab.
