A couple of days ago I purchased a new Focus 40 Blue 5th Gen braille Display
from Freedom Scientific. What a marvelous device. It works like a champ on
both the latest version

I am a bit confused when i read the manual for my Focus 40 with my mac.
It talks about the braille keyboard
My Focs does not have one so what am i supposed to do when changing settings?
Is this not a ocus 40 V5?
If not then what focus version is this?

you need the latest firmware for Bluetooth support of the Focus 40 on your Mac.
For the Focus 40 blue classic, the latest firmware is 4.59. For the newer Focus
40 blue (2012 and later) it is 4.93. You will need a Windows PC to do the
firmware upgrade.

I've attempted to do a google search and also search the FS website and the
Focus 40 Blue manual. I've found no instructions for updating firmware. I have
had this problem for over a year, and I'm reasonably sure others have, too. I
think it would be great to post the instructions for firmware
I called Freedom Scientific and they sent me a link to get the latest version.
It doesn't appear to be readily available on their site for some reason.

The only problem I've had on the Mac specifically is that my display goes to
sleep for about ten minutes when I first plug it in via USB and does the
same when I restart VO in USB mode. I stumped three levels of Apple help
