I'm afraid I don't use iChat as there seems to be a problem with our router
being incompatible with iChat. We can probably solve the problem, but it's low
on the priority list at the moment.

Hello.
I thought I'd successfully avoided downloading Safari 5 when I unchecked it
in Software Updates, but alas, it installed right along with 10.6.4. Guess I
should've figured this would happen.
At any rate, I'm currently fishing through the massive pile of Safari 5
messages to see if I find
Wow!
It happens with all websites for you? For me and most others on the list, it
is just 2 or 3 sites at the most. Most notably audible.com.

Hi Ginny,
Many of us have experienced this on sites like apple.com and audible.com. It
is very frustrating, and will hopefully be resolved soon!

I'm really curious. I'm not experiencing any of these issues with Safari 5. I
use Safari all day to research the answers to queries in the translations I do.
I also use Audible.com and have no problems with that, either.
I'm wondering if this depends on the hardware being used. I have a
I wonder the same thing. My macbook is a year old and has the current trackpad
and specs. I am out of town, but am going to wait until I get home to update
my iMac, which I got in December of 2009. It will be interesting to see
whether they have the same problems.

Hi, Ok just checked out the Apple support page. Didn't have any trouble. I'm
still concerned about Mail interaction but Support seemed ok on Safari. I did
the Combo update and repaired permissions.

I have a 18 month old MacBook which has the new track pad and I also have a 2
and a half year old iMac and I have experienced the same problem with both
machines. was on the Apple site today and was trying to download a manual for
the iPod Nano and VoiceOver had a heart attack.

I'm not having much in the way of those issues with safari 5, either,
especially since I adjusted the moving cursor option in the web area of the
VO utility. I have a Mac Mini, which I got in March.

What did you adjust to make safari work correctly?

I can't speak to FB on windows, either, haven't used jaws in three years, have
no plans or desire to go back to windows!
Have you tried iWork? It has similar functionality to MS office and works very
well with VO. You can also read and work with documents created by MS office.
If you need to
Thank you that is very kind of you and I may take you up on that offer. I have
thought about iWork as it might be the only option, was hoping the new version
might be out by no. I also believe OpenOffice is also VO friendly, anyone had
experience with it? Sadly i do need MS Office
Olivia,
Regarding word processing, and since you have an IPad, how well does that work
with exporting docs to Word, Excel, etc. format? I was asked that question and
didn't know. I heard there's some sort of file manager for iTunes that handles
this, is that true?

Anne:
to my knowledge, your the first person who actually is logging on to audible
and not experiencing the problem with Safari 5. I know, there's been many who
went there and didn't have a problem, however, I don't think they logged on.
This, however, is quite interesting indeed. Do you use
