So I just went with T-Mo, 0 down and about $40 monthly.
There was some mention of being on the jump plan turning in your old phone and
getting your installments 0ed out but not sure how that works as my phone as my
father’s name on it now that a replacement is on the way.:)

No they are water resistant, not water proof!

Water damage. That was it. T mobile, like Sprint covers water damage.

When I talked with Apple yesterday, they told me one must have a carrier plan
to sign up. However, once one gets the phone, it is unlocked, so one can change
carriers. Also, the payments are done through the iTunes account.

Actually, if you keep the phone for 2 years, it is payed off and is yours from
then on. Apple's program is very similar to T-Mobile. Based on what everyone
has said, if I was in the US, I would probably go with T-Mobile rather than
Apple, depending on the monthly cost.

It may be water damage, a lot of carrier insurance plans seem to cover that
now, as where Apple care doesn’t, which surprises me, sense they’re so much
more expensive, and carrier insurance is more like pennies in comparison.

I use Sprint’s insurance plan over Apple care on my phone, which I think

I take care of my phone though, so have yet to find that out lol.

That sounds similar to the one Sprint offers, but can’t remember all the
details on that. I think it was similar to their Everything unlimitted plan,
only they knocked $50 or so off of it, but the specs on it were pretty much the
same. I think you could upgrade every year instead of every 2 ye
Apple has that too? I had no idea, I knew Sprint did, but the rep that told me
about it had my head spinning to the point that in the end, I just decided
against it, sense I didn’t want to get myself into something I couldn’t back

Yup. Just got off the phone and set up my own call. So I don't have to go to

I’d give them call, I got a very nice person yesterday who worked through the

I just learned that on their device payment plan, VZ lets you trade in your old

to do the same thing as the Apple program, i.e. you get a new phone once a
year. The one drawback to VZ is that they frequently changed
Yes. It does include insurance, again, according to what the guy in the store
said. I certainly didn't stand there and read all that fine print. In fact,
there is something better about the T-Mobile insurance then AppleCare,
something it covers that Apple doesn't. But can I remember what that is
Apple care always seemed so expensive to me. I thought about buying it on my

You’re right on the $10, that includes insurance though? I did n to know that.

I don't know what the trade-in is. Mine isn't paid off yet. And if I do go for

I think Apple’s program is more of a lease in that there’s no option to
actually own the phone. I could be off here but I think you lease the phone
yearly and Apple gets a continuous income stream where with T-Mobile it’s more
of a rent to own affair.

David, it’s not a minimal trade in I don’t think. It’s $300 if memory serves,
maybe Mary can correct me as she’s pretty plugged in to the market as well.
But as memory serves on an iPhone you get at least 300 on the trade in or you
can pay it off and own the phone and buy another. You can als
Yes, T-Mobile calls it the Jump program. You can jump to your new device every

No. If you have jump on demand, you bring your phone back, get the new one, and

payment could change. As long as you keep the service, you won't owe anything

T-Mobile doesn't have contracts. For that matter, the other carriers have these
