Yeah that's what I thought but I'm trying to get access to menus within vm
fusion and it doesn't want to play the game with me.
I just wondered if there was someonthing out there to make life easier for a
start.

Hi List,
Is there any instruction document or tutorial available for someone that
wantts to learn to use
VO and vm fusion better than just playing free and easy with the

Interesting. Sometimes it did and sometimes it didn't for me so I just
do it anyway to be sure it's installed and current.

Hi Chris,
When I installed Windows via Fusion, the VMWare tools were installed
automatically after Windows was installed and booted up.

To clarify, VMWare will boot up windows with the VMWare tools and then
you choose install VMWare Tools from the Virtual Machine menu. After
that it should get everything going. Unless you like narrator you might
want to install Jaws/WindowEyes since the actual install is a windows app.

HI Simon,
I know you can import a Bootcamp installation into fusion. I installed
Windows from a CD and VMWare Tools was installed automatically after
Windows was installed, so I think it would work the same way when
importing the installation from Bootcamp.
Best,
Anna

You have to install the tools yourself; they are not automatically
installed.

Just a side question regarding vmware tools. I've downloaded vmware
fusion from the internet. Are the mvware tools a part of this
downlload by default, and consequently vmware will install them as
needed during the Windows installation? Or do I need to get vmware
tools as a separate downlo
Hi Anouk,
In order to run Windows via Fusion, you need a Windows CD. This can't
be an upgrade CD or a recovery disk. You then install Windows using
that CD within Fusion. Once Windows is installed, Fusion loads the
drivers you need automatically through something called VMWare tools.

Hmmm, that is curious, I have not heard that Anouk and I'm not so sure
that is a good idea in any event. Best to start with a fresh install
of windows. If you install windows as a VM, you can certainly make a
backup of that and just copy it over itself if something becomes hosed.

Hi all.
I have sucessfully installed a copy of windows xp on my mac with vm

out how to start a manual install of ubuntu. I can use the automatic

Hello, I have heard in a podcast that you can copy over a windows xp
installation from an existing computer into a virtual machine on the macintosh
with fusion. But, my windows xp installation on my pc also has audio and video
drivers installed. Wont this be a problem because I suppose on the ma
Hey all,
Found out about this whilst listening to a podcast and I know we have
a few students and users of virtulisation applications on here so I
figgured that i'd let you know about this.
Basicly if you know anybody at all that is a student, your able to get
fusion for $39.99 as apposed to $80;
go to the Dock and launch the app, it will load
VmWare for you and then the application.
