Are the nuance voices available for the mac? I didn't think they were?
I'm using my 30 day demo of the acapela British voices right now and they seem
pretty responsive to me so far. I do get what you're saying about some
languages, though. That would drive me crazy if I had to deal with it
Guys,
thanks so much for all the help. I checked out the Acapella voices
and was blown away. IMO, $99.00 is not a lot of money for one
language pack of that quality. I couldn't quite figure out how much
two packs, British and American English, would cost. Anyone know?

Guys,
I went to Nuance.com and couldn't find any place where I could buy
more voices. Where should I have gone? Also, where can I buy the a

else? I'd be happy with just Samantha or Vicky that I had on PC, SAPI

Went to both Assistiveware.com and acapelagroup.com. No joy. Loved
the sounds of the demo voices I heard at acapela. Left them a note

compatible voices, I'd buy them in a flash.
Thanks,

Hey that's huge news that the Realspeak voices might be available for Lion.
I've been waiting for that. My favorite voice from them is Samantha so I can't
wait. However, will Alex still be available with the new update?

Hi. I've used the Acapela voices on here, like them a lot. I do have a few
negatives though. The first is that in between periods, the voices pause longer
than the standard Mac voices do. I don't know if this is how Acapela made them
or if it's because of Voice Over, but it gets annoying after
hi all,
I was thinking of trying out one of the acapella voices on the macbook pro. i
was wondering if others have tried them, and how responsive they are in
comparison to the ones on the mac. where do i find them?

Hello Denise,
The Acapela voices are excellent. The only minor drawback is that they cannot
change pitch to indicate a capital letter. Otherwise, no problem and if
anything, they're more responsive than Alex.

Hi.
Maybe these voices are more responsive, but I don't like them because
they are not correct with other languages. Using a russian voice I can't
read english words because of the pronounciation, and it takes a lot of
time making a dictionary. It's a reason for me to like voices from

Hello Az,
The French voices are fantastic! As for pronouncing English, of course voices
that are good in another language are going to be terrible at pronouncing
English as the sounds are different. The English voices are useless at
pronouncing French.
However, it's extremely easy to switch
Hi
Thanks, I frequently do cmd+vo+arrows. But there are some cases with
combined texts. I'm wondering why the company, which makes english and
other voices doesn't make one multilingual?
