There's no way currently to copy files from your "personal" file area
into the "group" area (or, for that matter, the institution area or the
site area). The best you can do is download your files from Mahara, and
re-upload them into the group.
My brainstorming on the subject:

With Evonne's new theme changes, lengthy filenames wrap around quite
nicely, so I no longer see any need to truncate them at all. I'll submit
a patch to eliminate the limit on the display of filenames.

With the theme changes that Evonne has submitted, which now make it so
that the tabs sort of "wrap around" if they're too long, I think we
should just eliminate the length restrictions on titles in tabs
entirely.

One of the UI commits made it impossible to add pages to a new
collection. The problem was that while rearranging the elements in the
collection/views.tpl page template, Evonne moved the Page collection
form inside of an {if} block that it was previously outside of. So, I've
pushed a fix patch:
