Hi list,
Never tho't I'd be looking for something like this.
I seem to recall a pretty fair comparison of MI and arcview.
Anyway to get a copy? or where could I look.
Have a customer w/a need.
Thanks.

Mappers,
In the last few days there has been a bit of a flurry of questions about

Hello,
I am currently researching demographics for site selection purposes in the

I ordered the UK Census Demographics pak from MI, but there doesn't seem to
be definitions of the variables anywhere. Furthermore, the format they are

Mappers,
Is there any way to tell which records have been edited (added or moved)
right before a commit?
I'd like to update to field that says when a record has been "touched".
I'd like to do this wihout custom buttons, but I guess it's not big deal
make the buttons if necessary...
thanks

Is it possible to select and edit multiple layers in MI 5.5 simultaneously?
What I want to do is select all from multiple layers, and then make them
editable and then reposition them. I dont think that it is possible but I
thought I would throw it out there and see what happens. TIA

I'm trying to change the color of a country on the world map. If I

To get more information about each selected record or item, just click on
that item from within the information tool list window. If you want to see
all of the data attributes of all six records use the "marquee select tool"

I have a quad 550MHZ machine, and I find that both mapinfo and vertical
mapper will only use one cpu at a time. I even find that if I open a second
window for mapinfo it degrades the performance of the first mapinfo session.
(I have 2gb of ram so don't think that is a problem.)

Search for records with characters in that have ascii values in the
appropriate range (I'm not sure off the top of my head what the acsii
values for 0-9 are). This could be done easily in MapBasic, but I'm
not sure about in MI Pro directly...

Title: MI - selecting number within text
Dear list,
Second problem in two days, so here goes.
I have a character column, although some of the records have numbers in them. How do I go about just selecting those records with a number in the text?
My records look something like this:
Hi Michael,
Don't know the answer to this one (I didn't know there was a Mapinfo Server
mode!) but try opening up some of the .wor files in a text editor like
notepad and see what is going on. The .wor will show the paths to the tables
being opened: perhaps Mapinfo on the server is saving the p

I talked to MapInfo Corp about this a year ago. They said that MI doesn't

only uses on of my processors.
When will MI support multi-processing, can MapInfo answer that?
