Hi Listers,
I have had a request from one of my users asking if the info tool could
leave a mark on the screen indicating where he has selected. He has to use
maps that have a lot of datasets close together and finds it frustrating to
have to select with the pointer first then use the info

Anybody know whats new in MapBasic 6.0?
From MapBasic 6.0 help:
New Stateements:
Create Map3D
[From Window window_id | MapString mapper_creation_string]
[Camera [Pitch angle | Roll angle | Yaw angle | Elevation angle] |
[Position (x,y,z) | FocalPoint (x,y,z)] |
Can I have my oil platforms oil rigs sticking up looking like real 3D
objects on a flat sea? :-)
Not really. I imagine that in some cases, it would be possible to create
a single surface that includes extrusions that look like objects, but if
you really want to place 3D objects on a 3D surface,

Current map window, however when I click on the information tool it fails
to open an

HI all,
Is there any information out there that describes what can be done with MapInfo, its
capabilities etc?
Comparisons with ArcView would also be nice.
Regards
Tony

Regarding the info tool problem ... an easy way to 'get the info window
back' is to use OPTIONSSHOW MAPBASIC WINDOW and then type in the command:
SET WINDOW INFO POSITION (1,1)
and hit return.

Hello, everyone.
I'm using MapInfo v5.5 under Win95. I have a selectable table with a
variable number of objects in each area. When I click over the area with
the info tool, the info tool list-window comes up, and has one reference
for each object associated with that area. However, the

Hi everybody,
I have a client that is using MapInfo Pro v5.5 on a Dell Inspiron 3000.
When he clicks on a polygon with his INFO tool, the info window does not
appear. He has set his data layer to be selectable. If he hovers his
cursor over the polygon, he gets the info bubble below the cursor,
Hi Karl,
I'm not sure why it happens but you can fix it by typing the following in the
mapbasic window:
Set Window 1008 Position(1,1)
Hope this helps.

Question:
Anyone know how to make MI Pro free memory that its using while a .mbx is
running? It seems that MI Pro eats up a lot of memory while a .mbx is
running and never free's it till MI Pro is closed itself.

Dear list
The info tool seems to get tired sometimes, it
works as expected, then for no good reason it stops working, layers still
selectable etc any ideas we are running 4.5 Windows 95. The workaround
is select, then new Browser window - selection, it's not as convenient
though
nd optionally saves or prints the image.
With Kind Regards,
