Hi Milo,
Yep, isn't that just great !! I tried the same when I was trying to figure
out how to bulid this Server Link statement. The MapBasic window is great,
but sometimes it would be nice if it told the whole truth in stead of these
hidden variables !!!
I did though figure out how to do it

Dear list,
I am building an application which uses a single MBX,
opening a VB-application which holds a slider.
The slider holds Year-values (2001,2002,2003, etc.)
and is used to display predictions.
Right now it creates the required themes, on a single
layer. But when the slider moves, I
Dear all,
I have this problem and it's driving me crazy: Whenever I issue a Note
Statement in a MapBasic code, a Window switch occurs and MapInfo is no
longer the Front Window. How can I prevent such behavior?
(I'm sure a lot of you had to deal with this before!!)
TIA

Hello All,
I am using the boundary select tool and am finding
that it will not select points that share locations,
it will only select a point if it is the only one at
that location. This also happens with SQL Select. Does
anyone know a fix for this??
TIA,
Kate
Anne,
Make your layout window active in MapInfo. Then go to the File menu, Save
Window As command. A dialogue appears with four buttons - Save, Cancel,
Advanced and Help.
If you click on Save then you have the option to save an image of the layout
window in various file formats (bmp, jpg,
If an even number of points are selected at the same location, it will
probably look as if no points are selected at all (double reversing of
marking). Try to browse your selection and everything is probably OK.
Kind regards

Can someone tell me if it's possible to make MapInfo place the labels
inside the map window and not necessarily at the centroid of the polygon
object. The problem I have is that I'm auto labeling city polygons but the
centroid is off the map window and therefore I'm not getting the city names

Uffe,
This is almost a stuff but surely it will work.
When you open the table you can load an array with the code that identify
each record (the unique key).
The index array will be the ID record.
If the table is ROnly you have no problems. If you can modify it, when you
add / change the key

Using the Hotlink tool is it possible to launch more than one document or

Hi Mike,
Your idea could be a solution, messy yes, but worth trying. I will try it
and post my results to MI-L later.
In the meantime thanks to all the other suggestions I have received from the
list. Mike is the one who has been closest to a solution (I hope and think).

Frank,
Open a MapBasic Window (Options Show Mapbasic Window). Using your data
(or a copy of your data), perform a Combine operation. Look in the
MapBasic window, and notice the combine command. In particular, notice the
data clause in the Combine statement. Now perform a buffer operation

Ok, I'm stumped again...
I have a intersection database that I imported from Access. In its basic

into one column separated by a back slash ie. Portage Ave / Main St) and I
have X and Y Coordinate Columns. When I opened
You need to index the field. TableMaintenanceTableStructure will get you
to a list of fields with a checkbox for 'indexed'. Just mark your field and
it should become available to geocode against.

Dear Listers,
At first glance it seems that MapInfo does not support DragDrop
functionality. I'm trying to drag a (*.tab) file from my application to
MapInfo (an open app. not the icon) but I get the dreaded circle-slash
symbol. Does anyone know of a way to enable MapInfo to allow
dragdrop?
Hi everybody,
Is there an MBX around or some (semi-)automated way to locate all the adjacent

Hello
I was wondering if some smart cookie out there in Mapinfo-L has any idea of
how to generate a centreline along the length of a polygon. I'm wondering
because I have a lot of roads as polygons, which I want to have as

Any suggestions would be appreciated.
