Hi all
Sorry I'm sure this is going to be a very simple answer. I have a polygon
layer showing all county wards and a second layer showing accidents in the
county as points. I need to select all accidents for a single ward I can

Good day
Quick question: is there a method of translating a workspace (i.e. layout
features, tab files) into DXF or DWG?
I realize it is possible to translate each tab file to DXF, but I'm
searching for a way to convert an entire workspace into DXF...
Any ideas?
Thank you

I'll take a guess here - it sounds to me like two things are
going on:
1) it sounds like you have set your layer to zoom layering
(go to layer control, select the layer you are concerned
with, click display and see if the Zoom Layering box is
checked); you can uncheck this and that layer should
Hello List,
As I was going through the mails and the amounts being
charged for the development, it is really amazing to
know the wide variations in the amount charged.
Here in India we charge $ 250/day for MapBasic, MapX,
MapXtreme Java plus Oracle Spatial/Spatialware.
However the rates vary
Hello list - Bill's note about Maine surprised me - it turns out the numbers
he referenced were from California. We are the only MapInfo VAR/development
shop in Maine, and our rates are significantly lower. Thanks.

Hello Chris,
I am certain that layout frames can only be rectangular. You could make
other shapes by laying over cover up polygons to mask on/off areas.

Hello Darrin,
Unfortunately, this level of cross-table analysis is (I believe) more than
can be accomplished with MapInfo's SQL implementation. MapInfo/MapBasic has
built-in functions to find percentage overlaps. If you do not want to buy
MapBasic, there are some developers on the list who may

Hello everyone,
I received some good replies. I'm not sure if people want
their names published since they sent the replies directly

There´s a freeware tool called intersct I guess that overlaps poligons. The
free version can´t run over 50 polygons. I found it in the directionsmag.
Hope it will help

If you have MiPro 6.5, try selecting all the points within the poly and
then using the Inverse Selection Tool to select all other points.

Hello,
I apologize if this has been addressed recently...
We're looking for seamless DEMs (30 m) for use within MapInfo, covering
several states. We'd prefer that they be already glued together and in a
format that we can use directly in MI, or that we can fairly easily
convert.

Thank you to everyone who tried. Some did reproduce the problem and some

Stephen,
Lets say you have a table with polygons and a tables with points
then the SQL is:-
Select * from points where not obj within any (select obj from polygon) into

However this runs really sloww on large tables...
So you if you are using Version 6.5 you could join the two

David Jacques,
Sorry for the delay in responding. Anyway, as a workaround for this bug, I
think you can use a very small number for the text angle (0.1 worked for me,
but 0.01 gave the same result as 0). That way it will look like it's not
rotated, but will not blow up. It might even return

Hello Ron,
The Convex Hull feature (Pro v6.0+) may give you a satisfactory result for

Hi all,
The border in my layout window has changed from a thin black line to a thick

sometimes red, but thicker than they used to be. It's doing this on all the
