Tony, TrueType Fonts are an easy and cheap alternative to the standard MapInfo symbols. I used the Font Creator Program from http://www.high-logic.com/. A single user license is $50, but you can try it first (shareware). My way of getting the right font set was copying, renaming and changing an

Nick, We've found that any alterations set through Table=modify are written into the tab file. This means that when the raster image is opened subsequently it will load with the last alteration set through this option. The other way to alter a raster image is through layer control=display.
