I don't know what to do now because I'm not able to generate any event to

Can anyone help me please?
Thanks a lot, Enrico

Hi all,
Anyone know where I can pick up FREE basic country GIS
data (just European country boundary lines/maybe
contour data?)-anything more would be a bonus...but
that's perfect for now?
I have a small personal experiment I want to do and
therefore I don't need massive amounts of data, just
Does anyone have the copyplus-235.exe file to install this MapInfo Tool, because it
is not accessible on the directionsmag web site and I need it urgently. If so please
mail it to me.
Many thanks in advance.

Ben,
Try DCW data at http://www.maproom.psu.edu/dcw/. It has various layers
available and I think it does include contour data. It comes in e00 format
so you'll have to convert it with the Universal Translator.

Dear MI users
What I want to do is to map a group of regions which the respective nodes coordinates
are represented in a MI table (each line has the node coordinates of a region like
this: Column1 has the region name, column2 has the x coordinate of node 1, column3 has
the y coordinateof node
Listers,
I have a large number of ECW compressed imagery files which I have opened
within MI. I have created a grid into which each tile fits. The next step is
to update each region that makes up the grid with the file name of each tile
that falls within. Does anyone have any possible solutions

I think you'll need a program though someone may give you a SQL that does it
at one go.
Loop all the open ECW tables OR open them in turn
Use the TableInfo function - get the min/max x/y of each table and the table
name into variables
(If you want to do this through the MapBasic
Hi everyone,
we are currently having a problem with getting a grid to a .tiff format using
Vertical Mapper.
Let me explain the situation.
In mapinfo, we are using a mapbasic app with one functionnality of the app is to
export a grid to a tiff file using the vmExportGrid function from
Sorry if this is a very elementary question, I've just begun using MI Pro,
and I need some help.
I have a MSAccess database with shipment history information. Is it
possible to geocode the origin and destination points within the same table,
and have MI Pro show directional lines from the origin
Hi Nigel,
23457 is right, confirmable by finger counting. I guess Excel erronously includes
both 1900 as leap year + both end dates in its
count.
64 * 365 + 15 leap days (1904-1960) + 31 + 29 (Feb'64) + 22 = 23457
Or maybe it's not the Gregorian calendar that's featured in Excel, but a new

Hi Jamie,
One of two explanations I can think of :
1. Your tab file is referring to some non-MapInfo DB based table, that's encrypted in
some way
2. You're running Win2000 (or XP?) with encrypted file system, and the file(s) in
question have been encrypted by a different PC

I'm often asked at demos what all the extra buttons on my MapInfo Pro

the one that probably gets the most attention as being useful is my Previous
View button which does the same as the Map Previous View menu item. I've
I just added the miracle button in version 7.0 no problem. Thanks for the

Use the Named Views function in the tool manager. This will allow you to
set default views that you can go back to.

My app lets users create a canned thematic map layer, and them lets them
remove the thematic layer.
MapInfo names the first thematic layer created Dealers(1). When it is
removed, and the Create-Thematic-Layer sub is called again, the layer will be
named Dealers(2), and so on. This
Stefan,
The variable is local. I removed it while snipping the code for the list.
I get the longitude even with this:
Print CMD_INFO_WIN: + CommandInfo( CMD_INFO_WIN )
Which made me think of mapbasic.def. There under 'CommandInfo() defines',
are these lines:
Define CMD_INFO_X
One -L'er queried why this did not work in ProViewer. I tried it and found
that this was true. After some experimentation, I found that PV does not
actually use MapInfoW.mnu to create it's toolboxes so presumably they are
created internally. I presume some part of the file is used as it would be
hello everyone,
is there other viewing software (similar version of MI ProViewer) that is
more extendable, that is, we can customised this Viewer to add our own

Or does anyone know how to customised MapInfo ProViewer??? Or have other
solutions???

And that's by design... MapInfo saw how fast L'ers exploited the holes in

James,
We use a custom built package called GBM Mapping. This is a custom MapX
application developed by Exa-Min (in Brisbane Australia) and it may suit
your purposes. Santos has supported the development of this application
and we use it for the broad deployment of GIS datasets to users with

It seems there was a wee problem, solved by a couple of lines of fresh code.
Below is the link to MapInfo Knowledge base. It has the patch for the 5.5 concentric
ring buffer.
I downloaded a tool from the directionsmag site called View Manager that allows a user
to go forward or backward up to 10 views.
This solves both the previous view and the accidental stuff ups!
I can't survive without it!

As far as remember I think you can use the seamless manager to complete the
entire task.
The seamless manager can be use to create regions around open raster files
and insert the name of the raster table into this seamless table.
When you have created the seamless table you can open the TAB file

If you have a look at the MapBasic help file you'll see that the

1. If you have coordinates in your table goto 6.
First we need to update coulmns with the coordinates from the origin and the
