Hi Nigel, A few commetn that might solve your problem: 1. Allways remember to use Fetch ... before reading values from a table/selection. MapInfo tends to loose track of the cursor inthe current table. 2. It might also be a good idea to select the record(s) from your selection into a names table

Jay: Typical problem... Which is, the Garmin is running @ 4800 baud w/ "somewhere around "1 second updates. You are most probably in a vehicle traveling as hiway speeds. Point will lag as mush as 1/2 mile behind. If you could get to 9600 baud or better even with 1 second updates the "mark"
