What layers do you need. We did some projects a while back where we
created a number of national map layers.
Might have something that would be helpful.

I don't have any experience with MapX on XP vs. Win2000 but from
troubleshooting other issues I would check 1. Are the XP machines using same

Good Morning All
We have a number of users here in Council who would like the Ruler tool to
read in metres ALL of the time.
We can show them how to change from Kilometres to Metres using Map ->
Options during a particular session, but we would like to change the Default

Having to avoid postscript files, this was definitely the winning solution. The
resolution was lowered in the printer configuration and the problem was solved.
Thanks for all the inputs!

Catherine,
The pixel limitation of MapInfo is about 28000. Let's suppose that
you try to print a 27 inches map at 1200 dpi. The map width multiplied by
the resolution will give you the number of pixels of your output file. In
this case : 32 400 pixels. This exceeds the pixel limitation
Hello to all.
I am looking for a software or MapInfo add-on which could help me solve this problem :
I have satellite images (MrSid) where north is at the bottom. Even when correctly
registered in MapInfo they display with the north down and the vector layers are

Here is the answer I got from MI Tech Support. While I
don't think they are right to blame it on Windows, following
their advice does fix the problem.

Several years ago I was able to draw the boundaries of a region using Metes

and angles (320°) in a box. Bingo, I had a line of the right length and
direction. Then I could keep on adding till I got back where I started from

Good morning,
I know a lot of problems are regularly reported about printing to pdf, but I never
seem to hear about solutions.
The problem occurs when I try to print anything larger than 27 inches. I don't get any
error message, I simply lose the printable area in my layout. With anything bigg

Hi,
If you open the .tab file of the table in notepad it will show you the
lowest version of MapInfo that can open the table.
As long as there are not any advanced features saved to the table, MapInfo
5.5 shouldent have any problems.

Very amusing! The warning not to meet in person with the con artists is
good advice. In Czech Republic within the past fortnight a distraught
victim of this fraud shot dead a consular official of the Nigerian
embassy.
