Are your geocoded objects being offset at all? That is to say, do they
geocode right on the segment?
I have seen this happen, not too often, but occaisionally. The problem I've
identified is when the "FromLeft" "ToLeft" FromRight" "ToRight" ranges are
not consistant with odd and even numbers.

Hello all,
I have a folder containing approximately 2000 georeferenced tif files and I
need to open them in MapInfo. The problem I am running into is twofold:
1) It asks me to specify the projection for each raster (they are all the same
projection)
2) I do not have a table containing the raste
Hi,
When launching mapinfo from vb via the mapinfo object, my status bar is empty.
If I hide it and then reshow it, you then get what you'd expect to see in the
status bar.
Any ideas how I can prevent this ?
Many thanks

Hello Steve,
I've yet to find a free source that is up-to-date. Europa Technologies has a
number of world map products but they are all commercial products, starting
from $495. Take a look at our web site for details and please feel free to
contact me if you have any questions.

Hi Ian,
Trying to embed the "For Next" into the Data statement construct is not
allowed by MB. It certainly would be a great feature if it was
supported. Another suggestion to the MapInfo guys would be to support
all columns... something like:

I have run a successful Mapinfo SQL query which generates a table with
approximately 600,000 records. There are two tables, a 1km grid and a set
of irregular polygons which represent soil types. The query runs quickly
enough but when I attempt to save the results, it is amazingly slow. It

Hendrik,
Since you are using a localized version of MapInfo, try setting the regional
settings of Windows to US-international. MapInfo is known to have problems
switching , and . In numeric values every now and then. If this is indeed
the solution, report it as a bug to the MapInfo corperation.
Can anyone help me find a Layer with a world country boundaries. Would be very
much appreciated.
I have come across a few but they aren't very accurate.
Thank you in advance

Hello All,
I have been having some issues with the geocoding and was wonder if this
is common problem or if any body know how to correct it.
I have been geocoding and have set the offset distance to 10m and when I
look at the results, 90% of the records are placed on the segment but

Hi Ian
I would go back to "Object Split", because the hacking MI dialogs is a
little bit tricky and future versions could cause your program to stop
working.
When you say that "KeyID" is being stored in the resulting browser,
that's because you're making an assignment with specific value. I thi
Hi Ian,
Can you provide the code fragment you're using? Maybe you are not
issuing the command with all the parameters required for the operation
to take place (???).

Hi Ian!
Maybe it's a silly notion, but I am thinking negative buffers here.
If you are lucky in that the buffers have been created with an equal
distance from their mother object, a negative buffer of a slightly smaller
measure will create a very narrow region object which, given a suitable

Hi All,
I'm trying to write a Mapbasic program (V5.5) to identify the two end
points of a series of buffers (around polylines - and no the polylines are
no longer available!). Some of the buffers are U shaped so max/min
functions return the wrong results. I'm thinking along the lines of

Hi All,
Does anyone know if it is possible to produce MapBasic code that will
