Hi David!
I would have used something like
Run Command WindowInfo(winid, WIN_INFO_CLONEWINDOW)
which to my knowledge also clones present thematic layers.
You can test it from the MapBasic window by entering
Run Command WindowInfo(FrontWindow(), 15)
when you have the map window to clone

Scott,
In addition to the points already mentioned translation failure or
'unusual' results can occur if the autocad file has proxy objects, solid
fills or external references. Purging the drawing in autocad
(File/Drawing Utilities/Purge...) can sometimes also help. As a last
resort copying the
Hello,
I have problems with Pies with Transparent slices.
My pies seem to work in most situations, but slices with transparent
contents is sometimes filled with garbage pattern (non-transparent fill).
The pies are programmed using the Shade command, and the pattern of the

I currently have two pieces of code, which have been compiled and run ok. I
want to create one routine with both bits of code joined but when I do this the
code won't compile and comes back with errors.

Hi, everybody
Is there such a place where we can buy mapinfo: T-shirts, mugs, pens,
mouse pads, stickers etc..with mapinfo logos on it.

Scott,
I too have had problems translating AutoCAD files into MapInfo. I use
ArcView to bring up the files to see what they look like and then convert
the layers I need into Shape files and then into Tabs. From what I can tell
the problem of translating AutoCAD files is getting worse. AutoDesk

We have stumbled on an inconsistency between MapXtreme (ver 4.7.1) and
Mastermap. As you are aware each feature is rendered at display time
according to attributes stored as pen, brush or pattern numbers.
MatserMap, as we have currently translated it uses numbers 0 through

Hi Valerie!
Thank you for the input! :-D
The data I have (GDT) is not a 'display layer' and
contains all of the attributes for geocoding (street,
fromleft, toleft, fromright, toright).
I have tried modifying the range values from 'integer'
to 'char(11)' (against what the manuals say) yet the
Does anyone know of a program that will take a tab
file and convert to a GeoTIFF?

Hi Eric,
It may be better these days, but I've always felt that MapInfo seriously
underestimates the value of merchandicing :-)
Isn't MapInfo Corp. the only source of such items ? Given the fact that they
have to approve any 3rd party use of their trademarks
(and never have?).

Hi Frank,
This just happened to me yesterday. Check to make sure you have the
correct software. We upgraded to street pro 8 and they sent the display
version. It will not geocode addresses. Look on the cd. If it says
Display it won't geocode and you need the enhanced address layer
version.
Hi, All,
We have a file of polygons that we'd like to remove all of the 'danglers'
(endpoints reaching off the surface of the polygon into other polygons or into
empty space).
I tried dangl.mbx on DirectionsMag, but kept getting an error (after I had
converted my polygons to polylines).

Our new Transformer Extension for MapInfo Professional will embed directly in
the MapInfo Pro interface and take an image file referenced to a TAB and
reproject it and write it out as a GeoTIFF. Is that what you are looking for?
Has anyone had success importing MapInfo files into the pipeline modeling
program GASWorks v7.0? I have tried using the .dxf, and .shp selections in
the Universal Translator but have not been successful. Exporting the
selected .tab file and converting to .dxf, or .dbf hasn't worked either.

Hello Everyone,
I have a problem where I must populate a pop-up menu item with values from a
table. Basically, I am creating a custom query dialog, and need to populate
a 'roads' pop-up menu item with the street names listed in a table column.
Is there a way that I can do this? Thanks in advance
The projection file has a complete set of UTM WGS84 (datum 104) - 120 zones
altogether.
Why don't you just copy that section, and change the datum to 115 ? The UTM
zone definition is independent of the datum used.
The format of a projection clause is described exhaustively in the appendicies
These things do exist. Just go to MapWorld or other MapInfo conferences
and do something worth remembering, and they might give you a T-shirt,
baseball cap, mug, pen, or plaque.

Hello all!
Having trouble with geocoding (first time doing
this)... :-(
I believe I have my streets table setup properly:
Street (char 40)
FromLeft (Integer)
ToLeft (Integer)
FromRight (Integer)
ToRight (Integer)
Everything is indexed (I've also tried indexing only
the Street field)
