Hi List!
I thought should share with you a most useful method on creating
workspaces. Forgive me if some find it obvious, it wasn't for me.
The problem is this:
During work on a complicated map design, one tends to open lots of
tab-files, try out different sub-selects, copy mapper windows for t
Hi List!
I wonder if anyone has a solution, like an application or a description of
a good work-flow to the following problem: When creating thematic maps for
multiple themes, which will have to be presented in several thematic maps
the work is done in two stages.
One: in one mapper, create a ba
Hi,
Is there any way to make (raster or vector) map layers semi-transparent?
If so, would this work in MapX?
Kind regards

When registering for the wiki deselect the option to email your password, you

Dear List
Please consider the code below. I'm doing the same thing with 3 tables,
to get the description field from the look-up tables, given the FK from
the main table. I've ommitted some of the code but essentially the code
picks up the Zone description (not included here) and the Facility T
Greetings list.
Can anybody tell me if it is possible to export TABs that are referencing
raster images to a format that can be viewed in AutoCad? I have checked the
archives but to avail.

Dear All
This may be a easy one but hear goes, I have two columns of data which I want
to multiply the values of each together and give the result in a additional
column. I take it this is possible to do, if so could somebody please enlighten
me.
Thanks

I've loaded a raster (aerial imagery) then overlaid vector layers. When
I position another copy of the same raster layer at the top of the layer
list and turn it transparent in the style override, the result is
see-through vector layers, which look pretty cool. I haven't tried it
in MapX though.
Andrew,
- Goto Table > Update Column
- Select the table you want to update
- Select the column to update
- In the value field you enter this: COLUMNNAME1 * COLUMNNAME2
where COLUMNNAME1 is the name of the first column and COLUMNNAME2 is
the name of the second table

Hi Terry,
I haven't read your code in detail, but in general, an indirect
reference to fetch values from a table should _always_ be immidiately
preceeded by a Fetch command.
To fetch values from a table without specifying the row, needs
previously to have set the "active row", and that is wh
Hi Robin!
The tab is merely a reference to an image file, telling MapInfo where to
display the image file in the chosen coordinate system. You can look at it
in any ascii file viewer.
Other software, such as AutoCad often uses a so called world file, which in
an external file gives the same kind
Hi List,
I have a tab file called Eq.tab, and a grid file called Source.grd. I am
looking for a method to create a table of all listed cells in Source.grd
with number of Eq in each cell. I knew how to do it using Sql search, if
both files were tab files. Following is an example of what I am looking

Jerry,
Thanks for your reply.
I was thinking of raster formats which have an 'alpha' channel. This can
be used to allow a certain amount of the underlying layer show through
(like in Photoshop).
I tried the using the layer-control, but the 'Style Override' box is
disabled - I guess this is becau
