If you want to controll the text then forget all about labels and use
textobject insted, this way you have almost absolut control over the seize
and placement of text.

we did get a lot of problems with text + Mapinfo.
Mapinfo is not only "bad text sizing" but bad text
everything. A complete disaster.

There is a couple of plugins more than Discover: one
is from a company impossible to contact...??? ... the
other one is really expensive... you must pay
