that is causing the artifacts. Try listening to an early CD on an early CD
player. I think in many cases you will not be satisfied.

My youngest son has my Sony MZ-1 and sometimes records his band.
I mentioned this because he has my oldest son's Les Paul. Like you always
write below, he really loves Gibson
I just got a Sharp MT90 to record rehearsals and gigs for our steel
orchestra. I'm kinda slow so recording them, marking the tracks, and then
deleting the dead space helps in practicing at home. Haven't moved into CD
compilations yet.

Well I mainly bought my MD player/recorder (Sony MZ-R900DPC) for use when
walking to work, but I end up listening to it a lot more than I thought I
would. I do programming for a living, and I find with a real good
electronica/trance compilation going I can get into a hell of a groove,

The Ovation guitars that I've played didn't sound too bad. The
