I happen to have one; the card itself does not have a TOSLink or anything
digital, but it does come with a nifty external box full of different ports.
There is a proprietary connector between the card and the rack. A quick
glance at the box shows that I do have a TOSlink/Optical connection for
I just bought a Hercules Game Theater XP. It has TOSlink ins and outs. :)
Excellent deal. Easy setup, also a 5.1 sound card with oodles of other
goodies.
I got it from www.newegg.com. It was 139 shipped. :)
I don't know if anybody else posted this, but it's a great card. It's

Hello list :)
I've been on here for quite sometime, mostly lurking... I was wondering if
any of you knew of a carrying case or something to hold an MD player at
waist level. Something like a fanny pack, but light and simple. Does
something like that exist?
Thanks!

Right now apple is selling the lowest end iMac for 900 USD. (www.apple.com)
Their low end iMac comes with a g3 CPU running at 400 mHz and is Indigo
colored.
And also comes with 2 USB ports and 2 FireWire ports. Which, IMO, makes it a
good cheap DV Editing computer. Most low-end PCs do not come
I don't know if anybody replied to this, yet (I didn't notice in time about
the iMac comment) but I think Apple's customer service sucks all 'round, no
matter what sized customer they're serving.
And in response to the overpriced comments... I agree with the user who

Firewire in a nutshell, is much like a USB port, only it runs a LOT faster.
In some cases it runs faster than a SCSI-device. You don't see it
everywhere yet, because it's new technology (fairly) and not widely accepted
yet. FireWire is also hot-swappable.
You can find FireWire harddrives,
Ooh la la la. If only I had 34,000 yen to burn...

Hey List =)
My friend has a sharp md-ms722, and she's got a MD stuck in the sucker.
:( She says that she's done all the normal things but it's never come out
far enough for her to grab it. Any tips or suggestions as to how she might
extract it? Thanks =)

How much are you looking to spend? As far as MD minisystems go, I've
mentioned on the list before that my personal favorite (by far) is the
JVC FSMD9000. It lists for $770, but I've seen it for around $220 - $270.
I'm thinking about spending 300-350 tops on the system... You said you'd

What should i get for best quality? The Xitel MDport-DG1 or SoundBlaster

I'm going to use my Sony MZR-35 now and a Denon DMD-800 in a month or so.
Which one should i buy?
Hello all,
Is there free software for Mac that I could use to make a compilation
of few cd-quality sounds.
- You might want to try SoundApp. It's a no frills mp3 player(it's a kick
ass player. Tons more reliable and less RAM draining than macast, but I
won't get into that) and it seems to

They're pretty good - if your MD recording is mainly from CDs and you don't
need/want the extra frills than a standalone deck offers (fade in/out,
extra inputs/outputs, pitch control, etc.) then a combo deck is a very good
idea.

When does the new SCMS (sp?) standard kick in for the US? I mean, I haven't

Hey, i bought a MDBUNDLE 5 that came with a JE-320 and a MZ-EP11. It was
kind of cheap, and I dont really need high quality stuff because I dont live
off of MDs. But I found the bundle to be nice.
