I have had 2 recording sessions with my Sharp 702 portable MD recorder
and my Sony bookshelf system. I am using the optical digital output on
my bookself to record CDs to MD. The quality sounds great, but the
volume of the MD is much lower than the original track on the CD. I'd

Seriously, David, once you've sampled at any particular resolution, you
cannot improve the resolution by ANY kind of magic handwaving, no matter
how
expensive the box.

I could really use some audiophilic feedback.
I'm looking for a *good* sounding portable. I had the Sony 40 that came with
the MD bundle and I was unimpressed. Even on my Grado SR80 Headphones (which
the unit couldn't quite drive loud enough) the mids and highs sounded harsh
and flat.
