Hi Mike,
I think all MD head units can control CD changers, at least the Kenwood's
ones. If you have place for a changer (MD or CD), then go for it, but
remember that Sony is not only manufacturer to have such products available.
For sound quality, for example, Kenwood products are better.

Yes, sorry for not mentioning its name/number. If it does not add
additional functionality, it is at least available (in Eu
Dear James & Shawn et al.
Check first whether the new JVC MD/CD car radio is available where you live.
As far as I know, this new unit just replaced the JVC MD-X3000 head unit,
and it seems great. I will check this for myself...

I agree totally. Bitwise reduction, not to say compression, was what made me
hesitate for several years before adopting the MD technology, and I know
many people for whom this is still a real obstacle
Hi all,
Radio commercials heard lately in Belgium state that you can record MP3
files on Minidisc via the internet thanks to the Sony MDS-PC3 Minidisc
recorder and a computer. Is this a new feature or just better marketing?
Anyway, it's the first time I hear commercials on Minidisc here in Belgi
If this G-protection is a different system, then does it eliminate the noise
made by the unit to fill-in the standard 40 sec buffer memory?
This would be an improvement, really.

The best sounding MD deck available for that price (with digital outputs, 1
coaxial, 1 optical) is the Kenwood DMF-9020 (MD-2070 in the USA), though I
am not sure it is still available from Kenwood in the States - probably

They were notably referring to decks such as Marantz's MD-2020 and Kenwood's
DMF-9020, but I guess it also applies to Sony's MDSJA 555 ES (or 50 ES).

So this may be the reason why my recordings and playbacks with Sony's MZ-R
70 seem so low on quality.
