I've found problems with Memorex blanks on several occasions, in 2
different recorders; the problem is that the disc 'hangs' up and won't
record or play past a certain point. Sometimes it will record all the
way thru, but on playback it stops at a certain point and the timing
display flashes

recording, I did an "All Erase" to clear the TOC. While trying to do a name
stamp on the third recording on a Sharp 831, I got a "Can't Readu" error

It has been my experience that dropouts are usually a *player* problem
and not a *disc* problem. (This is not to say that all discs will be
problem-free.)
My Sharp MD-X5 developed a distaste for some Maxell discs a while
back, yet the same discs played and recorded just fine in other
machines.

I'm relatively new to the world of MD, having just bought an R90 and 30 sony
"prism" series discs (10MDW-74HP). To date, I have recorded on 10 of these
discs, and so far two of them have started to give brief dropouts at certain
points on the disc. These were all virgin recordings done on
