Another veeery useful feature, if you have a Sony charger, is PC
control of it. I was very dissapointed when discovered that

That little box costs $149 from Sony and I've never found it in Sony's stock
when I call. I thought I could save on buying the software but Sony has all
angles covered on this. I did buy the MDS-PC1 deck with the MD Editor and
it's by far the best way I've found to use MDs features. Any other
Sony makes an RS232 - control-A1 convertor, the CAV-50C. Its a very small
box with an attached 1 foot cable terminated in a DE-9F, which plugs into
the serial port. It requires no external power; it is powered by DTR from
the serial port. It comes with the MDS-PC2. Maybe you could order it
