Chris, I have the Sony E25 portable player (I got it bundled with a deck too), which also takes a single AA battery. I usually use Ni-cd rechargeable AAs with it. I've had a separate (generic commercially available) AA battery charger for yonks, and it charges 2 AAs at a time so I have 3 or 4

Don't through out your money on Sony batteries. Buy Rayovacs at Wal-Mart. A 4 pack cost about $10. If your player allows you to recharge them in the unit, you will probably have to strip about a half inch of the bottom of the label off of the battery. The screw you Sony batteries usually set
