I had the same problem on the W126 300SD I found parking with engine pointing down hill would prevent problem. The problem bothered me for about 8 months, then when I changed fuel filter I put new "O" rings on the fuel filter banjo bolt and problem went away. Trampas -Original Message- F

Odd problem with my w126 300sd... this is a problem being made worse by cold temps, but it's doing it even on warmer days when it was starting fine (even before I adjusted the valves). When you turn the key (after two glow cycles), it kicks strongly and fires briefly, then dies. Then it just crank

If you noticed when I replyed to messages here, I am the proud owner of a very nice 72. It wasn't in perfect shape when I found it, but it was in drivable condition. Just needed a little TLC since it sat for almost 2 years. The engine is still very strong and everything except the radio works.
