It is not leaking in the locked position, I only observed it leaking when I tried to purge the air in the main fuel filter. I have never run the engine with the pump not 'closed' There are two seals, the one that would be problematic, as opposed to a bit messy, is the one that seals the handle

Gump seems to have a leak in the water pump area. Once they start to seep the leak usually gets a lot worse very quickly. You can probably get away with driving it, but I wouldn't plan on any long trips and I'd keep a few gallons of water in the trunk. -- Jim
