I was told by a Texaco technical person several years ago that ATF is a 10
weight non-detergent oil with an antifoam additive, which is probably a
silicone oil. The silicone oil, possibly DC 200, would not burn or ignite. It
would take a long time to accumulate silicon deposits.

Why not just put a piece of cardboard in front of the radiator and
see what happens? If your theories are true, not much will happen.
IF it makes enough difference to cause overheating, then cut 1/4 of
the cardboard away. That would give creedance to the theories that
there is too much
