the fill tube?
That's to prevent fuel from blowing back at you
while filling. It vents to the neck area, but
not outside the tank.

I have heard of $2.99.9 fuel. $3.00 fuel is here. Supposed to be
$3.50 gasoline this summer. Who knows about Diesel. It ain't gonna

On a 123 car its pretty easy. The end of the vent is under the rear driver's
side passenger's feet. Theres a trumpet kind of check valve thing that connects
to the hard line. Here in snow country
Took 15 gallons when I filled up to come home, thats close enough to normal I
won't worry...

I should add that this is a problem that has been coming on for awhile now, the
cap has been making increasingly ominous "whoosh" noises at each fillup for
some time now. I've just not wanted to lay in the slush to clean the vent...

I had similar behavior when my pre-filter was plugging up - it would
lose power when the tank was low, but it didn't self-heal like yours.

I've been using cheap 15w40 in my 240D as well. The 190D gets M1 5w40 changed
at 12,000 miles but the 240D leaks way too much for Mobil 1 to make any kind of
sense...

and then take them to a Bosch shop for testing and balancing. More
labor and more time, but you might save a few dollars and my own opinion
is that the original injectors are probably higher in quality than most
of the rebuild

Had a similar leak but no pump issues in Wife's Infiniti; it was a crack
in the plastic cover for fuel gauge / pump with electrical pass-through.
Very apparent when held up to strong light.
