Technically no company should insure a salvage title car. To be legal the salvage car needs to go through an anti-theft/safety inspection before the state issues a rebuilt title. Then liability insurance should not be an issue but collision or the like may not be available. That is how NY does i

My insurance company (Allstate) has told me they will not insure a car with a salvage title. Neither will State Farm, according to a friend who is my former agent. Both will insure a car with a "rebuilt" title, but neither will underwrite collision on a car with such. Dan Sent from my iPad On
