It does not have a lot of sand in it, or the sand is finer, something. It is different from mortar, probably the mix of lime cement and sand. I know it is hard to waste a whole bag but the repointing mortar is cheap enough and would be the correct stuff. That said, it would probably work but h

Well the old Dodge Desoto fluid drive was a different type of fluid drive. It had a stick tranny and dry clutch but also a fluid coupling in line with the clutch that had two finned disks in a sealed fluid unit. Slower than a 240D but let you drive either stick or just put it in 3rd gear and just5

I agree, don't do it.  Regular masonry mortar is a better bet, cause it has more sand and such in it, and is designed to fill larger gaps than thinset.  I guess you could go get some sand and mix it in the thinset to produce a masonry mortar of types, but I'd only do that in a real unusual situ
