A couple months ago I wrote about the patching of holes under the battery and patching the rubber grommets behind the battery in an attempt to keep the rain out. For the last 3" monsoon the car was in the garage. But, the one before that it was out, and it may have been 5-6" and high winds.

Not many multimeters are able to measure 1-20 amps of current. multimeters measure miliamps. a good meter would trip a breaker or blow a fuse where a cheap multimeter will let the smoke out if you apply even 1 amp. An old fashioned car ammeter could do it, but you'd have to wire in inline.

I did it with a battery charger. with the cable hooked up, there was a 5A draw on the charger when the battery is charged. With the ground cable unhooked, there is ~0 amps on the battery charger. I also did the nighttime spark test. It won't measure current, but it will tell you if there
