Many thanks to Dan for this k1 link. My 82 SD (722.303) has always upshifter poorly and easing off the throttle only made it worse. I've played with the cable, modulator, and orifice in the past but only achieved modest improvements. I think I'll do these k1/2 springs if I ever change fluid

So I have been driving the SDL now for a couple hundred miles and while it still smokes and runs like crap when you first start it, it seems like it is taking less and less time for it to run half way decent without missing at idle. Today and did 2 cans of diesel purge and changed the fuel

I replace rotors when there is a distinct lip around the outside edge. You can measure them to make sure, but for me this is every third set of brake pads more or less -- new rotor and pads, replace pads once, need rotors on the next replacement. MB rotors are cheap enough it's silly not to

I dunno about the spring but you'd ought to replace the tensioner bearing.This is how I got my $250 '84 190D, the tensioner had failed which ripped a hole in the timing chain cover. They were sure the timing chain was busted. Fred had a replacement timing chain cover and I was on my way.

I am fixing to head out to the shop to do oil change, and front brake job with new pads and discs. I then realized I should repack the wheel bearings as well. I have never used the mb grease or a dial indicator to set the bearings I just do it by feel. Do I really need to use the mb grease and
