Thanks for that observation. Maybe grinding the bulb holder is the better
approach. That would keep it oriented properly. The socket connector is
oriented a certain way so that is an indication of how it should go.
Dremel time tomorrow...

White lithium grease quickly turns to the rock for which it is named.
It should join the pantheon of frequently mis-applied and thus ultimately
harmful yet inexplicably popular products, alongside Armor-all and WD40.
(All of which probably have their place.)
I generally use ATF on motor bearings.
IMHO, plain bulbs are superior. None of this blue crap 'upgrade'.
The bulbs and holders are keyed, so that the light originates from exactly

This is weird. I ordered some new bulb socket connectors, supposedly
ceramic, for the SEC since both of the old ones had melted. Got those
soldered on no problem.
Go to put the bulbs back in the headlamp housing and they won't go in
right. I'm sure they were in there OK when I took them
So I spent most of the day working on the 190D. I did a full conversion
to R134 including new expansion valve, all o rings replaced, drier
replaced, oil changed to ester, also pulled the blower motor and cleaned
out a rats nest that was built back behind the fan and evaporator. No

That's strange. I think there is a disc with small orifice at the gauge end of
the oil tube that is supposed to dampen the oil pulses. Any work done to the
instrument cluster lately?

Roll it onto the trailer, jack it up and put blocks under it, and then
remove anything in the undercarriage you want. They can unload it with
a forklift or something.

I sprayed some white lithium grease where the shaft goes into the housing and
it is quiet now. No telling how long it will last. I guess I will put it back
in and see.

What domestic or import wheel pattern will fit a 123? It will NOT be going down
the road, just a hulk being loaded up on a trailer. I just don't want to scrap
good alloy wheels.

Kaleb.
If the squeak is caused by the bearing turning in its' housing you are
probably out of luck. i.e. The motor shaft and the bearing turn together.
I once freed up the bearing to shaft seizure by drilling a small hole
through the side of the outer bearing flange into the actual bearing and

minutes. Just not much room to work. Anyway, when turning by
