What do you see yourself welding? Stick is devastatingly fast and simple for structural steel. We drove to South Dakota last summer. I bought a rooftop tent, but needed a rack. I bought a bunch of 6061, cut it to length with the skillsaw and bolted some crosspieces to some aftermarket rack feet.
