Yes I always know when the wife has driven a car because the climate controls
are all at extreme settings and the vents are all pointing away from the
driver's seat.

We don't have anything with automatic temp control so when she gets too cold or
two warm my wife shuts the fan off.
If I drive a vehicle she's been in it takes me awhile to figure out why the
HVAC doesn't work. I just never expect the fan to be off...

(carefully) explained how this has absolutely no impact on the speed of cooling
and left it at that.
