There is no foam tube in a W124, but the suction blower can go bad, or fall off the plastic pipe. The blower is behind the right hand side dash vent. Test by seeing if a bit of tissue paper will stay put on the temp sensor grille beside the sunroof switch. The early units are NOT interch
