More: first SC mileage entry has note that car was branded "Not actual odometer". Car is being advertised as for parts only because it was overheated and the head gasket blew, but the garage that has it recommends replacing the engine. I'm considering this as a recipient for the diesel engine

Depending on the discrepancy I would not necessarily be afraid of a car for an odometer brand only. There are legitimate reasons that could happen; non-working VDO odometers are not exactly unheard of. Losing miles *is* sort of a red flag though. You have to wonder what else they are being disho
