only 103k miles, seems awfully low.

Last time I used CarFax was last year, and there were no "unlimited" deals
available. Only fixed number deals, like $40 for 5 reports.

Had Autocheck in 2008, reports didn't seem to have as much to them as Carfax,
but it could have changed since then.

You can do a free VIN lookup to see if it's been reported as stolen or
salvage (flood car, etc.) at:

I will usually do that, and then rely on my i

Caveat emptor. InstaVin charged me $6.99 and shows the odometer went from 99k
miles in 1999 to 87k miles in 2006. First reading is from Connecticut, then
car was titled in Massachusetts for one year (2001) and was branded with an
odometer discrepancy. In 2002 it was titled in SC and changed h
More: first SC mileage entry has note that car was branded "Not actual
odometer".
Car is being advertised as for parts only because it was overheated and the
head gasket blew, but the garage that has it recommends replacing the engine.
I'm considering this as a recipient for the diesel engine
area.
At least that how I see it.

used as bargaining leverage.

And many states, certainly Indiana and Michigan, will brand the title on any ten
year old car with 'EXEMPT' in the mileage box on the title.
I had that happen to me on a one owner 14 year old ca
