thanks, Dan.

Thanks, I guess I missed the regular plugs at the bottom. When I
read that I was still trying to figure out if the platinum plugs
would work. Forgot to look again afterwards.

Never use platinum plugs in a MB. It will idle like crap after a while.
Just use the bosch super plugs, they are cheaper and work much better
those cars.

I remember an article in a motorcycle magazine from the 1970's,

Thanks Dan and Ernest. I am convinced to go back and buy

Yes but the design is pretty much the same for engines of that period.

From memory the gap is .8mm, this holds true for the majority of Benzes

Word on the street is that Bosch plugs are crap these days.
Also you have to be careful what type of plug you put in a Merc, a lot
of the early ones need a _*non*_ resistor type of plug because the
resistor is built into the ignition leads and you may well end up with
too much resistance.

plugs don't usually have that may applications; and don't usually vary
much across the vehicles that might use any specific application.
i don't know where you're getting your P/Ns from and you didn't

Supposed to be gapped properly for something, but probably not a
380SL, so what is the proper gap supposed to be? If I am going to
put em in, I 'd rather check the gap first.

Now I am more confused. The plugs in the engine are W9
The new ones are WR9 resistor plugs
