I have a bottle of the real stuff (febi). The mineral oil for AC
use comes in a few different weights but I don't know how to do a
direct comparison. On the other hand I found Phillips 5606H for
about half the cost of Febi, if I
Since I'll be attending the PVGP (http://www.pvgp.org/pvgp-events/ ) in a few
weeks, I think I'll just stop by Bobby Rahal MB

Febi 02615 hydraulic fluid.
Thanx for all the input guys.

I can't seem to find out what the SAE weight of the oil is.
I don't know if they make a number that low. The stuff is
very runny, almost like kerosene. I'd stick to the real
stuff, or one of the MB-approved substitutes. I believe
that Royco 5606H I had was on a list, at least at one time.

Fair enough, but with all the drama and agita over what might or might
not work and where it could be sourced, and potential damage to the
system, where the real stuff is easy enough to get for not much dinero...

Since it's supposed to be a mineral oil I have been thinking of
using air conditioner oil which you can get in gallon containers
from the Home AC suppliers. Trouble is I can't seem to find out
what the SAE weight of the oil is.

Can anyone help here as I'd like to be able to get something which
meets spec at the local NAPA or Autozone? TIA.
I got 5 quarts of 5606H for $10 off of craigslist. That tided

You can look in the MB recommended fluids list for the specs and supplier(s),
