You beat me to it, Larry. Lower prices may be out there, but Larry's kits
include everything (including paid postage mailers) and the level of service is
second to none, except maybe Rusty.
I've tried a couple other labs, I'm sticking with Larry.

I do know of a better deal. However, out of respect for Larry, I am not posting
the link.

see where we're at. At 9700 miles the car had
leaked/consumed 1qt of oil and is on pace for about the same this time.

I don't know anything about German castrol Syntec. Castrol Dino oil
used to be very good. Castrol syntec is dino oil at synthetic
prices. If you change oil every 3000 miles it will work. But you
may as well buy a good dino oil. It is cheaper and does the same
thing.
What's wrong with C
Yes. I think AutoZone is the only place you can buy it in the U.S.

No doubt, as in Germany they aren't allowed to sell hydrocracked oil as "full
synthetic."
Is the German formulation actua
The German made Syntec 0w-30 is different than the rest of the Castrol
Syntec products. Its very good oil. I didn't mean for this to be an "oil"
thread. I just wondered if anyone knew when the next sale would be.

AutoZone currently has an "oil change special" 5qt jug of Castrol GTX and Bosch
filter gets you a ~$7 rebate, final price about $13. Of course you have to
send in for the rebate, which most people won't end up doing, which is why they
offer it.
Syntec is a "faux" synthetic, hydrocracked oil.
What's wrong with Castrol Syntec 0w-30?
