Back in 1990, I rear ended a Lexus in my 1971 300SE L 3.5 sedan while driving my 11 yo son to school - totally my fault. It bent the frame but we were both unhurt. Total repair cost was $3,700, covered by insurance. Lexus repair to the rear bumper and associated sheet metal amounted to $1500. O

I was hit by a Chevy 3500 series van driven by a heating and air guy a few years back -- he was running about 60 and ran a stop light. I still have pics somewhere, but the front edge driver's door was pushed in about 18". Quite the ride, I really don't recommend crash testing your car. I
