Been there, done that. Far better than dying of preventable colon cancer, like
my Uncle did 30 years ago.
Still not something I look forward to though.

I had read that at one point. The suggestion was that the number of real
issues found was very small compared to the expense of having them. I don't

just wasn't worth it.
My doc has not suggested one yet.

Just be sure that they draw blood before doing the finger exam. The finger
irritation can cause an increase in the PSA, triggering a false alarm.
I Doc told me once that the colonoscopies reduce the chance of dying from
colon cancer by under 10% and he thought that was a big deal. I told him to

My guy in Houston at MDAnderson agrees, but once it’s determined you have
prostate cancer (by seeing an increase in your PSA as you diligently monitor
it), the digital exam is a must because they can tell a great deal by the feel
of the cancer ridden places.

My guy always gives me the liquid you mix with Sprite or something like that to
mask the taste. One dose around 3:00-4:00 pm then the other around 9:00-10:00
pm. Completely emptied out and ready for bed before midnight for a morning
procedure.
I fast regularly, so going the better part of a day
Rule of old age:
Never take a laxative and a sleeping pill on the same night.

A nurse gave me a tip, use Mirolax instead of the prep stuff.
