Passed Over for Top Post, Head of Mercedes-Benz Will Resign

FRANKFURT, Aug. 18 - Eckhard Cordes, the head of the Mercedes-Benz car
division who last month lost the race to become DaimlerChrysler's chief
executive, will

handicap in the world of luxury automobiles, where
customers expect powerful engines and complex
electronics to work harmoniously.

I think D-C misread their customer base. The bling bling is in vogue currently
with the ricers, but I don't think the majority of D-C buyers appreciate it
that much.

Unfortunately, I have to concur. I have a 20 year old Mercedes. That
123 was the most reliable, longest service car of it's day. I have a
10 year old Mercedes. That 124 was the most reliable, longest service
car of it's day. When it came time to buy a new car for my wife last
year, I took one

MBNA headquarters in Montvale and a discussion had ensued about the newer
MBs and computers among some of the attendees and MB officals there. It was
