[MBZ] Seating Beads on New Tires

I'm going nuts trying to seat the beads on a new set of tires on my lawn tractor. The wheel rim is 7-8 inches wide but the beads on the new tires sit about 4 inches apart when relaxed. I can easily pull the beads apart to fit the wheel but I can't get them to stay that way while I add air. I tri

Last time I did this I got the tire mounted, then took it to a local tire store to get seated. They use an air chuck that was a lot more high volume than mine to move a lot of air into the rim while they held the tire against the bead. Took all of about 5 seconds for them... Dan Sent from my i

Easy on the ether in a little tire like that. Just a quick shot works better than a big one. Get the bottom seated, spray, step back and light a piece of paper to toss at the gap on top. No need to hurry a lot, the starting fluid needs time to mix with the air and won't come out the bottom. Wor

All, Thanks for the advice and tips. I tried most of the things mentioned (except ether, which I didn't have) without success. I ended up going to a tire shop today to get the beads seated. Two tire shops (that didn't have air cannons) tried without success. The third shop had the air blaster
