It seems like the best Mercedes made were all 1991 and prior. What's a

IT'S CRAZY PRICE DAY HERE
Well if they took it to jiffy lube for an oil change what else did they
neglect?
That body has major rust problems, as well as AC evaporator problems.

So, what don't I know about the early model 201's that I should know?
That they are all 190D/190E's? :-)

You are right. I meant 210. I looked the car over for the rust issue -
the shock towers show no sign of rust. I did a little research and
found cases of rust problems in the 97-99 models. But not in the 1996.
I wonder if something changed

Looks like a nice car. Silver exterior grey interior, serviced here in
Wichita its whole life except for one year when it was in Houston.
While it was in Houston - the owner's daughter brought it to Jiffy Lube
and they somehow
From what I understand, it is something you need a trained eye to spot, as it
rusts UNDER the sealant and then pops off. There can be VERY little warning
otherwise. It happens even on dealer-maintained cars, and when one pops off,
they usually go replace both of them.
Of course you pobably
trust me, the 96's rust equally as bad

What's a guy to do who wants to drive Mercedes, but wants something a little
more modern?
Pony up and buy an E320CDI/Bluetech :-).
You like the W126's, so maybe, the perfect Mercedes would be a 300SDL? it
SHOULD only be a 1-2K difference. Right now, there's one on the local
Craigslist for
I change cars pretty often and I thought I wanted a truck. Whatever I
buy has to look good (occasionally take clients in my car) has to be
reliable - I drive 300-400 mile trips to Western Kansas monthly and I
have to be able to resell it in 18-24 months and get my money back (or
at least not lose
I think you mean a 210.Check for rust on the front suspension and
under the inner doors. On another list, 210 owner had serious rust
issues taken care of but now it is rusting at the wheel well lips.
Rumor has it that MB cut back on their metal prep.
This era was the beginning of the end for MB
